Maiersbach is a district of the town of Gersfeld (Rhön) in the Fulda district .
The village is located northwest of Gersfeld in East Hesse in the Rhön Biosphere Reserve .
history
Maiersbach, located at the foot of the Wachtküppels , was first mentioned in a document in 1451. Maiersbach was desolate between 1451 and 1540. In 1561 three people settled in the village again.
Territorial reform
On December 31, 1971, the previously independent municipality Maier Bach was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the city Gersfeld incorporated . For the district of Maiersbach, as for the other incorporated, formerly independent municipalities, a local district with a local advisory board and local head was set up in accordance with the Hessian municipal code.
