Amazing is a power ballad by the American rock band Aerosmith . Don Henley lends the song background vocals along with lead singer Steven Tyler in the bridge just before the third verse. The song was written together by Tyler and his friend Richie Supa. It was released as the fourth single from the album Get a Grip , on which it is the 13th (14th on the international version, as this includes the additional title Can't Stop Messin ' ) and the penultimate track as well as the last sung, as it is the last track Boogie Man is an instrumental piece. The song is about how Tyler overcame his drug problems. Compared to other songs on the album, the song is musically shaped more by Tyler's piano than by Joe Perry's guitar.
