Houston Astros winner of the ALDS 2
The American League Division Series 2018 (ALDS) in baseball will take place between October 5 and October 11, 2018 and is part of the postseason of the 2018 MLB season . It is used to determine which two teams will compete against each other in the 2018 American League Championship Series . These are two best-of-five series in which the winners of the three divisions of the American League and the winners of the wildcard game take part. The series is played in mode 2-2-1, i.e. the better seeded team has home rights in games 1, 2 and 5.
The pairings are:
- (1) Boston Red Sox (East Division Champion, 108-54) versus New York Yankees (Wild Card winner, 100-62)
- (2) Houston Astros (West Division Champion, 103-59) versus (3) Cleveland Indians (Central Division Champion, 91-71)
