American Sin is a metalcore band from Cincinnati , Ohio, founded in 2012 .

history

American Sin was founded in 2012 in Cincinnati , Ohio by singer Marcus Barber, guitarists John Bobinger and Samuel Morelock, as well as bassist Jake Wire and drummer Josh Sexton under the name Come the Dawn . The band was signed to Sumerian Records in December 2013 . On the same day the first single Worlds Collide (As It Ends Tonight) was released and the debut album for 2014 was announced.

This is called Light of the World and was released worldwide on September 30, 2014 via Sumerian Records. The producer was Caleb Shomo , the singer of Beartooth and former singer of Attack Attack! . As a further single release Game Over was released via Alternative Press . A first real music video was released on September 27, 2014 for the track My Body's Failing , which can also be found on the album. The group covered the song What the Water Gave Me by Florence + the Machine , which can be found on the cover album Florence + The Sphinx released via Sumerian Records . Other groups that were involved in the album include Stick to Your Guns , Periphery , Ben Bruce and Upon a Burning Body .

Singer Barber stepped in as an interim singer for I, the Breather in June 2014 for the meanwhile injured Shawn Spann. From the end of March to the beginning of April 2014, the band played six concerts as the opening act for Oceano . With I Declare War and Texas in July Come the Dawn is completing a concert tour through the United States as the opening act for After the Burial . The tour kicked off September 13, 2014 in Moorhead , Minnesota and ends October 9, 2014 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . The band previously completed a concert tour between July 11th and 26th, 2014 as a co- headliner with Assassins . The group has also been seen as the opening act for I, the Breather, Affiance and This or the Apocalypse . In February and March 2015, the group could be seen again as the opening act for I, the Breather on their Life Reaper Tour in North America .

In 2017 the band changed their name to American Sin .
