Amphoe Nakhon Luang ( Thai : อำเภอ นครหลวง , pronunciation: ʔāmpʰɤ̄ː náʔkʰɔ̄ːn lǔaŋ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district) in the northeast of Ayutthaya Province ("Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province"). Ayutthaya Province is located in the central region of Thailand .

Neighboring districts (clockwise from north): Amphoe Don Phut of Saraburi Province and Amphoe Tha Ruea , Phachi , Uthai , Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Bang Pahan of Ayutthaya Province.

history

Amphoe Nakhon Luang was formerly part of Amphoe Nakhon Luang Noi, which is now called Bang Pahan . It was set up in 1895 as an independent “district”. In 1903 the administrative building was relocated to the sub-district Nakhon Luang, the district was renamed from Nakhon Klang to Nakhon Luang.

There are two municipalities with "small town" status ( Thesaban Tambon ) in the district:

Nakhon Luang (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล นครหลวง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nakhon Luang and the parts of the Tambon Bang Rakam, Bang Phra Khru.
Aranyik (Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล อรัญญิก ) consisting of the complete Tambon Tha Chang, Sam Thai, Phra Non.

In addition, there are six " tambon administration organizations " ( องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Tambon Administrative Organizations, TAO)

Bo Phong (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ่อ โพ ง ) consisting of the complete tambon Bo Phong.
Ban Chung (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล บ้าน ชุ้ง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Ban Chung.
Pak Chan (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ปาก จั่น ) consisting of the complete Tambon Pak Chan.
Mae La (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล แม่ ลา ) consisting of the complete Tambon Mae La and the parts of the Tambon Bang Rakam, Bang Phra Khru.
Nong Pling (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล หนอง ปลิง ) consisting of the complete Tambon Nong Pling.
Khlong Sakae (Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล คลอง สะแก ) consisting of the complete tambon Khlong Sakae.
