The Office Hemer was an office in the northwestern Sauerland, which existed from 1841 to December 31, 1974.

history

The Hemer Office was founded in 1841 and belonged to the Iserlohn district . The 14 municipalities of Becke, Brockhausen, Calle, Deilinghofen, Evingsen, Frönsberg, Ihmert, Kesbern, Landhausen, Lössel, Niederhemer, Oberhemer, Sundwig and Westig were united to the office on the basis of the Westphalian rural municipality order of October 31. The manors Edelburg , Klusenstein and Haus Hemer also belonged to this regional authority . The administrative association replaced the previous mayor of Hemer. At that time the administration was in Sundwig . The seat of the official administration was initially the building of today's pastorate of the St. Boniface parish. In 1865 the official headquarters were relocated to Westig at the address Alter Weg. In 1870 the administration was relocated again, namely to Oberhemer. Here, in 1908, in the direct vicinity of the administration, the new building of the last office building, the later old office building, was built .

Change of the official area

In 1910, the municipality of Hemer was formed from Niederhemer and Oberhemer . On February 1, 1921, Lössel came to the Oestrich office (which was later added to the city of Letmathe ). On August 1, 1929, Hemer, Sundwig, Westig and Landhausen merged to form the large municipality of Hemer. In addition, Brockhausen was incorporated into Deilinghofen and Calle was divided between Iserlohn and Hemer. This left the communities of Griesenbrauck, Becke , Deilinghofen , Frönsberg , Ihmert , Kesbern and Evingsen in the Hemer district . On January 1, 1969, Evingsen left the office of Hemer due to the state law of December 17, 1968 with the exception of the residential areas Heide , Heidermühle , Hüingsen , Schwarzpaul and Stodt , which came to Ihmert and became part of the city of Altena .
