The Sonnewalde office was an office in Brandenburg established in 1992 , in which 13 municipalities in the then Herzberg district (since 1993 Elbe-Elster district , Brandenburg) had come together to form an administrative association. The official seat was in the city of Herzberg (Elster) . The office was dissolved again in 2003, the municipalities belonging to the office were incorporated into the city of Sonnewalde. Last (end of 2002) it had a total of 3851 inhabitants.

Geographical location

The Sonnewalde office bordered in the north on the Heideblick office ( Dahme-Spreewald district ), in the east on the Kleine Elster office (Niederlausitz) , in the south on the unofficial cities of Finsterwalde and Doberlug-Kirchhain and in the west on the Schlieben office .

history

On September 30, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg gave his approval for the establishment of the Sonnewalde Office. October 5, 1992 was determined as the date for the establishment of the office. The approval was limited to October 1, 1994. The seat of the office was in the city of Sonnenwalde. At the time the office was established, the following communities in what was then Finsterwalde district were assigned (in the order in which they were named in the official gazette):

  3. Brenitz
  4. Frankena
  5. Friedersdorf
  6. Goßmar
  7. Kleinkrausnik
  8. Munchausen
  9. Pahlsdorf
  10. Schönewalde
  11. Sonnewalde
  12. Zeckerin

The time limit for approval was lifted from September 12, 1994.

On September 27, 1998, the communities Münchhausen and Schönewalde merged to form the new community Münchhausen. The community of Frankena was incorporated into the city of Doberlug-Kirchhain on December 31, 1999 and moved to the Doberlug-Kirchhain and surrounding area .

The municipalities of Bahren, Brenitz, Friedersdorf, Goßmar, Großkrausnik, Kleinkrausnik, Pahlsdorf, Zeckerin and the city of Sonnewalde merged to form the new city of Sonnewalde on May 1, 2002. As part of the municipal reform in Brandenburg in 2003, the municipalities of Münchhausen and Breitenau were incorporated into the city of Sonnewalde by law on October 26, 2003. The office of Sonnewalde was dissolved, the city of Sonnewalde vacant.

The first official director was Horst Flieger. The last official director of the Sonnewalde office was Silke Neisser, who became mayor of the city of Sonnewalde in 2003.
