With the entry into force of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was set up in Ebern , the district of which was composed of the municipalities of the previous district court district. The higher-level instances were the Bamberg Regional Court and the Bamberg Higher Regional Court .

With effect from January 1, 1932, the Baunach district court was repealed and its district was merged with the district of the Ebern district court. The District Court of Ebern was abolished with effect from July 1, 1973, but the District Court remained in existence until August 1, 2005 as a branch of the District Court in Haßfurt .
