The Ludwigsstadt District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1973 and was based in Ludwigsstadt .

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court in Ludwigsstadt was set up, the district of which was from the district of the abolished Ludwigsstadt district court with the former communities of Brauersdorf , Buchbach , Ebersdorf , Förtschendorf , Friedersdorf , Haßlach , Hirschfeld , Kehlbach , Kleintettau , Langenau , Lauenhain , Lauenstein , Ludwigsstadt, Marienroth , Ottendorf , Pressig , Reichenbach , Rothenkirchen , Steinbach an der Haide , Steinbach am Wald , Tettau , Teuschnitz , Welitsch , Wickendorf and Windheim was formed.

The next higher instance was the Bamberg Regional Court until April 1, 1921 , then the Coburg Regional Court .

With the repeal of the Nordhalben District Court on October 1, 1929, the Ludwigsstadt district court district expanded to include the town of Rappoltengrün .

After the war-related downgrading of the Ludwigsstadt District Court to a branch of the Kronach District Court and the confirmation of this measure in 1956 and 1959, this branch court was repealed on July 1, 1973.

The court was located at Lauensteiner Strasse 1 in a three-storey saddle roof building from the early 19th century, which now serves as the town hall of Ludwigsstadt.
