history

Hirschfeld was first mentioned in 1190 as "Eibenstock", in 1222 the village was called "Heeresfelden". The place initially belonged to the possessions of the Langheim monastery , later to the Bamberg monastery .

Hirschfeld formed a real community with Aumühle and Berghof . At the end of the 18th century there were 37 properties in Hirschfeld. The high court and the village and community rulership exercised the Bamberg Centamt Teuschnitz . The Teuschnitz caste office was the landlord of all properties (5 estates, 12 half estates, 1 three quarters estate, 1 two thirds estate, 2 thirds estates, 7 sixths estates , 7 rod estates , 1 drip house , 1 solitary farm). In addition to the property, there was also 1 church and 1 community brewhouse, as well as 1 semi-estate and 2 rod estates that were uninhabited.

As a result of secularization , the place became part of Bavaria in 1803. With the community edict in 1808, the tax district Hirschfeld was formed, to which the places Aumühle , Berghof and Förtschendorf belonged. With the second community edict (1818), the rural community of Hirschfeld was formed, to which Aumühle and Berghof belonged. In administration and jurisdiction, it was subordinate to the Teuschnitz district court and in financial management to the Rothenkirchen Rent Office ( renamed the Rothenkirchen Tax Office in 1919 ). In 1837 Hirschfeld was transferred to the Ludwigsstadt district court . From 1862 to 1880 and from 1888 to 1931 Hirschfeld was administered by the Teuschnitz District Office , from 1880 to 1888 and from 1931 by the Kronach District Office (renamed the Kronach District in 1939 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Ludwigsstadt until 1879, from 1879 district court Ludwigsstadt , which in 1956 became a branch of the district court Kronach . The financial management was taken over in 1929 by the Kronach tax office . The municipality had an area of 6.356 km².

On May 1, 1978 Hirschfeld was incorporated into Steinbach am Wald.
