The District Court of Weismain was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1959 and was based in the Upper Franconian town of Weismain .

history

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was established in Weismain, whose districts consisted of the communities Altenkunstadt , Arnstein , Burgkunstadt , Burkersdorf , Burkheim , Ebneth , Gärtenroth , Geutenreuth , Großziegenfeld , Hain , Kaspauer , Kirchlein , Kleinziegenfeld , Maineck , Mainroth , Modschiedel , Neudorf , Pfaffendorf , Strössendorf , Theisau , Wallersberg , Weiden , Weidnitz , Weismain and Wildenberg of the previous district of Weismain and the municipality of Fesselsdorf, which previously belonged to the district of Thurnau, and the municipality of Buckendorf , which until then belonged to the district of Hollfeld .

The Weismain District Court initially belonged to the district of the Bayreuth District Court , but on April 1, 1921, it switched to the Coburg District Court, which was also established at the same time .

With effect from January 1, 1927, the places Hain and Wildenberg were separated from the Weismain judicial district and assigned to the district of the Kronach District Court .

After the Weismain District Court was downgraded to a branch of the Lichtenfels District Court due to the war and this was confirmed again in 1956, this branch was closed on July 1, 1959 on the instructions of the Bavarian State Minister of Justice .

Courthouse

The district court was located in a two-winged building with a portal ädikula , Von-Rudhart- Strasse 1. The building, built around 1870 in classicistic style, is a listed building.
