The history of the Upper Franconian town of Modschiedel is closely related to that of the noble family of Modschiedler zu Gerau ( Görau ).

Incorporation

In 1976 the former municipality of Modschiedel with its suburbs Wohnsig and Wunkendorf was incorporated into Weismain as part of the municipal reform.
