District Court Lübben (Spreewald)
The district court of Lübben (Spreewald) is one of 24 district courts in Brandenburg and a court of ordinary jurisdiction .
Seat and District of the Court
The court has its seat in the city of Lübben (Spreewald) in the district of Dahme-Spreewald . The judicial district extends to the area of the communities Alt Zauche-Wußwerk , Bersteland , Byhleguhre-Byhlen , Drahnsdorf , Golßen , Heideblick , Jamlitz , Kasel-Golzig , Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg , Lieberose , Lübben (Spreewald), Lübbenau / Spreewald , Luckau , Märkische Heide , Neu Zauche ,Rietzneuendorf-Staakow , Schlepzig , Schönwald , Schwielochsee , Spreewaldheide , Steinreich , Straupitz (Spreewald) and Unterspreewald . This is the southern part of the Dahme-Spreewald district and also the city of Lübbenau / Spreewald from the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district .
Responsibility and duties
Like all local courts in Germany, it negotiates legal matters in the first instance . The area of responsibility includes civil litigation, criminal and fine matters, family matters, care and estate matters, land register and deposit proceedings, foreclosures and foreclosures. The Cottbus district court takes on insolvency proceedings and keeps the trade and association register. The Wedding District Court processes the dunning cases.

building
The court is located at Richtstrasse 2-3, Ernst-von-Houwald-Damm 10a. The two-story building designed by the government master builder Otto Hodler is a listed building. It was built on the site of the old district court building and a gatekeeper's house and was inaugurated on April 29, 1930. After renovation work and expansion with a new building, the district court was inaugurated on November 1, 2001 by the Brandenburg Minister of Justice, Kurt Schelter . A permanent exhibition on Lübben's legal history has been located in the corridors of the district court since 2009.
