The District Court of Nürtingen is a court of ordinary jurisdiction . It is one of eleven local courts in the district of the Stuttgart Regional Court .

The district court in Nürtingen is the court of first instance in civil, family and criminal matters. The property law register is also kept at the local court. All other register matters fall under the jurisdiction of the Stuttgart District Court. As an enforcement court, it is responsible for all enforcement cases in which the debtor is domiciled in the judicial district. The court has a department for inheritance and care matters.

In November 2008, the Stuttgart Regional Court sentenced a local court guardianship judge to a three-and-a-half year imprisonment sentence for perversion of the law .

In addition to the city of Nürtingen , the judicial district of the Nürtingen district court also includes the cities of Aichtal , Filderstadt , Leinfelden-Echterdingen , Neuffen and Wendlingen as well as the communities of Altdorf , Altenriet , Bempflingen , Beuren , Frickenhausen , Großbettlingen , Köngen , Kohlberg , Neckartailfingen , Neckartenzlingen , Oberboihingen , Schlaitdorf , Unterensingen and Wolfschlugen . Overall, the District Court of Nürtingen is responsible for a population of around 220,000 people.
