The red wine variety Ancellotta is mainly cultivated in the Italian regions of Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy . It is also approved in Piedmont (near Vercelli), Veneto , Friuli , Tuscany and Sardinia . There are smaller deposits in western Switzerland , here too the color-intensive variety is used almost exclusively and in small quantities as a blending partner.
description
It produces dark-colored, fruity and low-acid red wines that are ideal for blending . It is often used as a dye grape because of its deep-colored wines . In addition, very fruity, dark grape juice is obtained from it. It is contained in red and rosé wines of the DOC wines Colli di Faenza , Colli di Rimini , Lambrusco Reggiano and Reggiano Rosso. Currently, about 4700 hectares of vineyards are planted with the Ancelotta. Lineage: This grape is considered a close relative of the Lambrusco family.
