Andrea Bischof (born 1963 in Schwaz ) is an Austrian painter .

life and work

From 1982 to 1988, Bischof studied painting, graphics and textile design at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Roland Franz and Peter Prandstetter. Since 1989 she has been represented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. In 1999 she received the recognition prize of the Bauholding art competition and in 1995 the 2nd prize at the Römerquelle art competition. She lives and works in Vienna and Schwaz / Tyrol .

She is one of the representatives of informal painting in Austria. Her often large-format oil paintings are created in a cautious process that develops over weeks.

Bishop works in traditional oil technology. She has an affinity for French art and picks up on the findings of the Impressionists , Nabis and Fauves with her work - especially in the color scheme and deals with the late work of Claude Monet .
