Andrea Mátay

Andrea Mátay (born September 27, 1955 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian high jumper .

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1973 in Rotterdam, she was fifth, at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal ninth and fourth at the European Indoor Championships in 1977 in San Sebastián. In 1978 she was fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Milan and sixth at the European Championships in Prague . The following year she won the European Indoor Championships in 1979 in Vienna and the Universiade . For her success she was voted Hungary's Sportswoman of the Year in 1979. In 1980 she won silver at the European Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen and was tenth at the Olympic Games in Moscow .

She was sixth at the 1985 European Indoor Championships in Piraeus and seventh at the 1988 European Indoor Championships in Budapest.

She was Hungarian outdoor champion six times (1973, 1977–1979, 1985) and five times indoors (1974, 1978–1980, 1988).
