Andrea Venhaus (* July 1967 in Dortmund ), also known under the stage name Needlewitch (Nadelhexe), is a German piercer , body modder , speaker and actress .

Life

Andrea Venhaus learned her medical skills, among other things, in nursing for the elderly , caring for the severely handicapped and as a consultant at the German AIDS service .

In 1989 she started piercing and in 1993 opened the first piercing studio in Dortmund. Over time, Cutten (1994) and Branden (1995) were added to piercing, and since 1996 Venhaus has also been splitting tongues, placing genital beadings and other implants and performing various other forms of body modifications . In 1994 she created the technique of stacking for temporary body decoration. In 1999 she was the first branding woman in Germany to start branding with an HF cautery (high-frequency surgical device), which opens up completely new creative possibilities for branding. Venhaus has been bringing the topic of piercing and body modification into various media since 1994, with the aim of generating positive reports in the public.

In 1994 she founded, together with Frank Oest, the performance group Lacrima Rubra , with which it has since occasionally Fakir -, needle - and suspension shows occurs and also in the WDR / Arte - documentation irritable skin from 1998 can be seen.

Venhaus is a co-founder of the association “SMart-Rhein-Ruhr eV” and, in the two years of group work before the association was founded, together with Claudia Packmohr, she laid the foundations for this association and wrote the first statutes. Venhaus was also involved in the founding of "Quälgeist eV" and the "Democratic Lesbian and Gay Initiative (DeLSI)". She initiated the first bisexual group LiBiDo and also the first S / M group SexManiacs in Dortmund and also played a role in the creation of the so-called "Trier Study" ( Sadomasochism - Scenes and Rituals , 1993), the first real scientific study on the subject SM in Germany.
