Andrej Aljaksandrawitsch Baschko ( Belarusian Андрэй Аляксандравіч Башко , Russian Андрей Александрович Башко / Andrei Alexandrovich Baschko * 23. May 1982 in Minsk , Byelorussian SSR ) is a Belarusian ice hockey player who since 2009 when HC SHAKHTYOR SOLIGORSK in the Belarusian Extraliga is under contract.
Career
Andrej Baschko began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the junior division of the HK Junost Minsk , for whose professional team he was active from 1998 to 2001 in the East European Hockey League and the Belarusian Extra League . The 2000/01 season, however, ended the defender at HK Mahiljou in the Extraliga. He then signed a contract with HK Keramin Minsk , with whom he won the double of the national championship and cup in the 2001/02 season . In the following two years Baschko was successful with his team in the transnational East European Hockey League.
For the 2005/06 season, Baschko received a contract with Metallurg Novokuznetsk from the Russian Super League . For Metallurg he provided an template in 26 games. He then returned to his homeland, where he was committed by HK Dinamo Minsk from the Extraliga. With this he was in the 2006/07 season for the second time in his career Belarusian champions. After he had spent the following season at Minsk's league rivals Metallurg Schlobin , he moved to Amur Khabarovsk in the newly formed Continental Hockey League for the 2008/09 season . Baschko scored one goal in 32 games and gave four assists. For the 2009/10 season he returned to HK Dinamo Minsk, which was also accepted into the KHL in 2008. At Dinamo he first played in parallel for the KHL team and the extra league farm team HK Schachzjor Salihorsk . Since he was not able to assert himself permanently in the KHL team, after only six KHL appearances, he moved permanently to HK Schachzjor, for whom he has played almost exclusively since then. Only in 2011 was he loaned out to league rivals HK Junost Minsk, with whom he won the IIHF Continental Cup .
International
For Belarus , Baschko took part in the junior division in the U18 Junior World Championship 2000 and the U20 Junior B World Championship 2000 as well as the U20 Junior World Championships in 2001 and 2002 . In the senior sector, he competed for Belarus at the 2005 , 2008 and 2009 World Championships . He was also in his country's squad to qualify for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin .
