The Ane Læsø is a Danish Ro-Ro - Ferry . It runs between Frederikshavn on Jutland and Vesterø Havn on the island of Læsø .

history

The ship was built under hull number 202 on the Ørskov Christensens Staalskibsværft in Frederikshavn. It was launched on January 29, 1995 with the help of a crane. The ship, which was built for Samsø Linien in Sælvig, was completed on June 14, 1995. It set sail as Vesborg between Hov and Sælvig. The ship design came from the Danish ship architecture office OSK-ShipTec.

In December 1998 the ferry operated temporarily between Sælvig and Kalundborg . From mid-August the ferry between Hov and Kolby Kås was used. With the takeover of the ferry connection between Jutland and Samsø in autumn 2008, the ship came to Nordic Ferry Service . From May to June 2009 it operated between Kalundborg and Kolby Kås before returning to the route between Hov and Sælvig.

Between May 2009 and May 2010 the ferry was used on different routes and often only drove for a few weeks between Kalundborg and Kolby Kås, Hov and Kolby Kås or Spodsbjerg and Tårs .

The ship was launched in early 2011. In June 2011 it was sold to Læsø Municipality. The ship, renamed Ane Læsø , is used by Læsøfærgerne between Frederikshavn and Vesterø Havn. In the winter months, the ship sometimes operates on other routes in charter from other shipping companies. For example, at the end of 2014 / beginning of 2015 the ferry was temporarily chartered by Samsø Rederi on the Hov – Sælvig route before the route was taken over by the Prinsesse Isabella, which was commissioned as Samsø .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two four-stroke - six-cylinder - diesel engines with a total of 1,766  kW power driven. The MAN-B&W engines of type 6L23 / 30-DKV act on two controllable pitch propellers . Three diesel generators with an output of 187 kW (234  kVA apparent power ) are available for power generation. The ship is equipped with two bow thrusters , each with an output of 260 kW.

The ferry has a continuous vehicle deck that is accessible via land-side ramps. An additional height-adjustable deck is available to increase the car capacity. The vehicle deck is completely closed. At the bow there is a bow visor that can be opened upwards . There are three decks above the vehicle deck. Among other things, the facilities for the passengers are accommodated here, including a self-service restaurant and a lounge with a bar. The bridge is located in the front area of the ship.
