Anel Hadžić (born August 16, 1989 in Velika Kladuša ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player who also has Austrian citizenship.

life and career

Due to his talent, Hadžić moved in 1999 as a ten-year-old from FC Andorf to the youth department of SV Ried. In 2003 he came to the Upper Austria West Football Academy , where, in addition to his football training, he received his training at the commercial school . In 2007, the native Bosnian returned to his home club SV Ried and signed a contract as a professional footballer . He made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga in autumn . On September 29, 2007 (13th matchday) he came on as a substitute for Peter Hackmair in the game against SK Austria Kärnten in the 90th minute . In the 2007/08 season Hadžić was also eligible to play for FC Wels ( Regionalliga Mitte ), the cooperation partner of SV Ried. Since the 2008/09 season, the two-footed defensive and defensive midfielder was only used at SV Ried. In his 46th Bundesliga match, Hadžić scored his first Bundesliga goal for the Upper Austrians on October 25, 2009 in a game between FC Red Bull Salzburg and SV Ried (1-1) . In 2010/11 he won the Austrian Cup with SV Ried.

In 2013 he moved to SK Sturm Graz . His contract ran until 2016.

In January 2016 he moved to Turkey for the first division club Eskişehirspor . On March 7, 2016, he scored his first goal for Eskişehirspor in his club's 3-1 loss to Besiktas Istanbul . At the end of the season he left this club again.

In August 2016 he moved to the Hungarian first division club Videoton FC , with whom he received a two-year contract. In the 2017/18 season he was able to celebrate the championship with the club .

National team

On September 9, 2009 Hadžić made his debut in the Austrian U-21 national team when he came on in the game against Albania in the 88th minute for Andreas Weimann .

On March 5, 2014, he made his debut for the Bosnian senior team in a friendly against Egypt in the Tivoli stadium in Innsbruck . At the beginning of June 2014 he was included in the final squad for the 2014 World Cup of the Bosnian national team by national coach Safet Sušić . On June 25, 2014, he played his first World Cup game for Bosnia and Herzegovina against Iran in the Arena Fonte Nova , Salvador (Bahia) .

His brother Elvir (* 1999) is also a soccer player. They have been playing for the same Hungarian club since 2018.
