Angela Paton
Angela Paton (born January 11, 1930 in Brooklyn , New York - † May 26, 2016 in Oakland , California ) was an American actress .
Life
Angela Paton worked as a stage actress in the San Francisco area for many decades and was a longstanding member of the American Conservatory Theater . She co-founded the theater group Berkeley Stage Company from the California Berkeley . She was also seen in several plays on Broadway . Patton made her film debut in 1971 with a small role in the classic film Dirty Harry . But it wasn't until the late 1980s, when she was almost 60 years old, that she began working regularly as an actress for film and television. In six episodes of the Falcon Crest seriesshe played the role of Harriet Anderson between 1988 and 1989. Subsequently, Patton was mostly committed to portraying friendly older women in supporting roles. For example, she embodied Bill Murray's landlady Mrs. Lancaster in the comedy Groundhog Day (1993) and was seen as grandmother in American Pie (2003).
The last film role before her death Paton took in 2014 in the short film Last Wishes . Angela Paton was married to Robert Goldsby (* 1926), a theater director and professor of acting, since 1952. She died of a heart attack in May 2016 at the age of 86.
