Anja Bröker

Anja Bröker (* 20th March 1973 in Bernau bei Berlin ) is a German journalist and former presenter at the ARD .

Life

Bröker studied journalism and political science in Dortmund (1991 to 1997) and foreign policy in Washington, DC (1995/96). Her professional career began with an internship at the West German Radio (WDR), located from 1996 to the one working as an editor and reporter for the evening news joined the ARD.

Bröker was best known for her work as ARD's foreign correspondent in Moscow from 2000 to 2005 (see Russia reporting in Germany ). During this time, numerous documentaries and travelogues from Russia , neighboring countries, such as Mongolia and the area around the Caspian Sea were made .

From January 10, 2006 to February 23, 2007, Bröker alternately presented the ARD news program Nachtmagazin with Gabi Bauer . She finished working on the night magazine to go to China. There she worked as a writer for the ARD studio in Beijing and Swiss television .

From July 2009 Bröker worked as a correspondent for ARD in New York . She reported, among other things, from the Caribbean island of Haiti when a severe earthquake struck there in 2010 . Back in Germany, Anja Bröker started working as an editor at ARD-Morgenmagazin in 2013 and was responsible for the program's online and social media appearances. From 2016 to 2019 she represented the ARD morning magazine and also worked for the research association NDR, WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung .

Anja Bröker has been heading the Press Office, Newsroom and Social Media department at Deutsche Bahn since January 2020 .

Bröker is a member of Reporters Without Borders eV and Atlantikbrücke eV She lives with her husband and their two sons in Cologne .
