Ann Curtis
Ann Curtis Cuneo (born March 6, 1926 in San Francisco , † June 26, 2012 in San Rafael, California ) was an American swimmer .
During her career, she won 34 US swimming championships, a record that Tracy Caulkins only managed to beat in 1981. At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 she was over 400 m freestyle and Olympic champion with the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay and also won the silver medal in 100 m freestyle.
After these games, she ended her career and opened a swimming school.
In 1944 Curtis was honored with the Associated Press Athlete of the Year award .
