Martha Norelius
Martha Norelius (born January 20, 1908 in Stockholm , † September 23, 1955 in St. Louis ) was an American swimmer .
She was trained by her father Charles Norelius , who competed in the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games for Sweden . At the age of 15 she became Olympic champion in the 400 m freestyle at the 1924 Olympic Games . She was able to repeat this success at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam . She also won gold in the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay .
Martha Norilius was married to the Canadian rower and Olympic champion Joseph Wright from 1930 to 1938 and then married two more times. In 1967 she was inducted into the international swimming pool 's hall of fame .
