Anna B. Sheppard
Anna B. Sheppard (* 1946 in Warsaw as Anna Biedrzycka ) is a Polish costume designer who was nominated for an Oscar in 1994 , 2003 and 2015 in the category “ Best Costume Design ” .
Life
Anna Biedrzycka Sheppard graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with a degree in architecture . Sheppard made her first steps in film in Polish film, where she worked with the Polish film producer and director Krzysztof Zanussi , among others . Her first film with Zanussi Familienleben (1971) was invited to the Cannes International Film Festival in 1971 , but received no award. In Poland it was named the best film of the year by the film magazine “Film”. Sheppard's sister Magdalena Biedrzycka is also a costume designer.
Sheppard's most important film to international success was to be Schindler's List (1993), where she worked with the renowned director Steven Spielberg . Her work on this film earned her her first Oscar nomination in the "Best Costume Design" category. This was followed by further work with renowned directors such as Volker Schlöndorff ( Der Unhold , 1996), Roman Polański ( The Pianist , 2002 and Oliver Twist , 2005) and Quentin Tarantino ( Inglourious Basterds , 2009).
Sheppard is a specialist in her profession who is not afraid of any challenge when it comes to mastering difficult requirements. The artist is based in London.
