Anna Felzmann (born January 18, 1992 in Zweibrücken / Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a German athlete who has specialized in the pole vault and was originally an apparatus gymnast .

career path

Felzmann passed her Abitur at Hofenfels-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken and is studying teaching for high schools and comprehensive schools with sports, French and German. Her dream job is a teacher at a German-French sports high school on the Côte d'Azur .

Athletic career

Felzmann started gymnastics in 2000 . In 2003 she became enthusiastic about the pole vault, initially practicing both sports side by side until she finally decided on the pole vault in 2005 and has been following it with increased commitment since about 2011.

In May 2013 Felzmann became German university runner-up with a personal best of 4.30 m. So she had fulfilled the norm for the Universiade in Kazan as well as for the U23 European Championships in Tampere , which took place at the same time in July. Felzmann's first start in the national jersey was at the U23 European Championships, where she finished 7th.

In 2014 she became German U23 champion .

In 2015 Felzmann came 7th at the German Championships .

In 2016 she became German Indoor University Champion. From the middle of the year, Felzmann suffered from bone marrow edema , and she had not found her way back to her old form in the 2017 season.

Felzmann was part of the B-team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) until 2016 .

Club affiliations

Anna Felzmann started for the LAZ Zweibrücken on January 6, 2005 , before that she was with the United Turnerschaft Contwig (VTC) .

Trivia

Her younger sister Johanna is also a gymnast and competed in the pole vault.
