Anna Pujol Puigvehí , in Catalan Anna Pujol i Puigvehí (born August 16, 1947 in Figueres , Spain ) is a Spanish historian , professor and archaeologist .

Career

In 1970 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Barcelona . Her thesis was entitled “ Los Indicetes según las fuentes literarias y arqueológicas. “She received her PhD in history from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1981. She graduated with summa cum laude . Her doctoral thesis was entitled “ La población prerromana del extemo nordeste peninsular. Génesis y desarrollo de la cultura ibérica en las comarcas gerundenses “She taught at the Autonomous University of Barcelona for over 15 years and was Associate Professor of Archeology and Antiquity at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC). In 1981 she received a professorship for history in secondary schools.

As an archaeologist, she made several practical excursions to Empúries , an ancient Greek ( Ionian ) colony in what is now the Catalan province of Girona . Together with international Franco-Spanish teams, she undertook excavations in places of scientific importance, such as the oriental palace of Cancho Roano in Zalamea de la Serena ( province of Badajoz ) or the Gallic-Roman city of Bibracte in today's municipality of Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray ( France ), and in numerous places from different epochs in Spain, Catalonia (e.g. Ullastret and Empúries) and Europe (e.g. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence , Bourges , Bordighera and Liguria ). Her experiences from teaching archeology led her to organize the first and second Conference on Archeology and Education at the Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya in 1994 and 1996 , where she appeared as a speaker.
