Anne-Marga Sprick
Anne-Marga Sprick (* 1934 in Tielenhemme in the Dithmarschen district , Schleswig-Holstein province , Free State of Prussia ) is a German author who publishes in Low German .
Life
Sprick grew up on a farm in Tielenhemme on the Eider . Since only Low German was spoken in her very well-read family home, High German has remained a foreign language for her to this day. From 1992 to 1999 she worked at the Klaus Groth Museum in Heide . Inspired by her work in the museum, she found the stories for her extensive collection in its rich library. The Low German stories were first published in the “Sagenhaft: Dithmarschen” section in the Dithmarscher Landeszeitung and the best “Vertellen” were published in book form in 2005 by Boyens Buchverlag .
In her book Ünner´n Wiehnachtsboom , published in 2004, she translated well-known and unknown Christmas stories by Theodor Storm , Pastor Lensch , Peter Rosegger , Gustav Frenssen , Wilhelm Lobsien , Klaus Witt , Agnes Miegel , Christian Kock , Emil Duborg and Klaus Groth into Low German.
Anne-Marga Sprick has lived in Bargenstedt for many years .
