Emil Duborg

Emil Duborg (born March 2, 1878 in Harburg , Hanover Province , Kingdom of Prussia , † 1972 in Aumühle ) was a German teacher , Low German author and local history researcher .

Life

After growing up in Harburg, Duborg lived first in Dassendorf and later in Kröppelshagen-Fahrendorf , where he taught as a teacher from 1903 until his retirement in 1939. The time in Kröppelshagen was briefly interrupted by his participation in the First World War , when he was drafted as a soldier in 1917 and sent to the war front in France .

Duborg also worked as a Low German writer who mostly wrote stories from and about Christmas . He was also active as a local historian and was particularly interested in archeology and geology .

Emil Duborg lived in Aumühle from 1945 until his death.

Honors

In 1954, Emil Duborg became an honorary citizen of the Kröppelshagen-Fahrendorf community, where the Emil-Duborg-Kehre street was named after him.
