Annelies Black

Annelies Schwarz (born October 20, 1938 in Trutnov , Czechoslovakia ) is a German educator and writer .

Life

After being resettled from her Bohemian homeland, Schwarz grew up in Hanover . She studied education and fine arts in Hanover and Berlin . From 1973 she worked as a teacher and freelance painter in Berlin, Bremerhaven and most recently in Bremen . Between 1972 and 1980 she held a teaching position for play and children's theater at the University of Bremen . She made numerous trips to Ghana and worked with Ghanaian artists. Today she lives in Misselwarden .

Since the 1980s she has published literary works and mainly books for children and young people , in which she partly processed the experiences of her stays in Africa. In 1981 her childhood memories We will find ourselves were on the shortlist of the German Youth Book Prize . In 2001 she was awarded the Sudeten German Culture Prize for Literature and in 2005 the Nordstemmer Zuckerrübe Children's Book Prize.
