Annelsbach , a renowned resort is part of the municipality Hochst in southern Hesse Odenwaldkreis .

geography

Annelsbach is surrounded by fir and mixed forests in the northern Odenwald . State road 3106 runs south of the village .

history

The village , which then consisted of only one farm , was first mentioned in 1314. The name changed to today's Annelsbach via the place names at that time Anoldispach and later Onoltzbach . In the Middle Ages, the place was characterized by iron ore mining, as evidenced by a mining regulation from 1472. Since the place, together with the Breuberger Land, was mostly owned by Wertheim at this time , the document has been handed down in the Wertheim archive.

The place had a total of 50 inhabitants in 1939 and belonged to what was then the district of Erbach .

On November 1, 1969, Annelsbach was incorporated into the municipality of Höchst in the Odenwald.
