Annemarie Podlipny-Hehn (born February 20, 1938 in Lovrin , Kingdom of Romania ) is a Romanian-German art historian and writer .

Life

Annemarie Hehn attended primary school in Sânnicolau Mare and then (1952 to 1956) the German Pedagogical Institute in Timișoara . In the years 1956 to 1961 she completed her studies of German and Romance languages ​​at the Western University of Timișoara and worked from 1961 to 1964 as a German teacher in Orțișoara and Gărâna . Since her marriage to Julius Podlipny she has had the double name Podlipny-Hehn. From 1964 to 1991 she was the custodian of the art department of the Banat Museum in Timișoara . In 1990 she graduated as Dr. phil.

During this time, she was also active as a painter and exhibited her works for the first time in Timișoara in 1968, after which she showed her pictures in several group exhibitions in Timișoara and Bucharest . As a journalist she mainly dealt with questions of art history and art criticism , but also published articles on folklore and literature. She has published works on the Banat Swabian painters and visual artists Stefan Jäger , Franz Ferch , Julius Podlipny , Hildegard Kremper-Fackner , Oskar Szuhanek and Adolf Humborg , including in several German-language publications in Romania such as Neue Literatur , Neuer Weg , Neue Banater Zeitung , Allgemeine Deutsche Zeitung for Romania and Carpathian Rundschau .

In 1992 Podlipny-Hehn founded the Stafette literature group . The aim of the literary circle is to promote young German-speaking talents in the Banat , mainly authors from the German-speaking department of the Nikolaus Lenau Lyceum and the German department of the West University. She went on numerous trips abroad with her students, for example to Hungary , where she maintained a lively exchange with the Hungarian-German authors from Budapest and Pécs , and to the Federal Republic of Germany , where she was repeatedly in Baden-Württemberg (including in the Danube Swabian Central Museum in Ulm ), but also read in Berlin . In Saxony she made contact with the Sorbian minority . Her work is reflected in the twelve anthologies of the Stafette literary circle that she has edited. Annemarie Podlipny-Hehn is the sister of the Ulm-based writer Ilse Hehn .
