Annenhof (Bad Saarow)

Annenhof is a residential area of the thermal brine and mud spa Bad Saarow in the Brandenburg district of Oder-Spree . The former Vorwerk of the Pieskow Manor, first mentioned in 1844, is located around three kilometers east of the Scharmützelsee .

The Annenhof is located on the Beeskower Platte between a forest area and an extensive open landscape with arable land to the west of the 101-meter-high Schwarzberg. The flat, undulating plateau is one of the southern boundaries of the Berlin glacial valley , which predominantly consists of glacial deposits (especially clay till and sand ). The plateau is listed under No. 824 in the natural spatial units of Germany as part of the East Brandenburg Heath and Lake District (No. 82).
About 2 kilometers to the west on the banks of the Scharmützelsee lies the former estate district of Pieskow, today also a residential area in Bad Saarow. About 5 kilometers away are Kunersdorf to the northeast and Wilmersdorf to the southeast, both parts of Rietz-Neuendorf . The residential area is only connected to the road network via Annenhofer Weg. The unpaved, unpaved road leads from Pieskow to the settlement and ends there. The route of the Scharmützelseebahn , which has been disused in this section, passes around 700 meters to the south . The track of the single-track line has largely been dismantled. There was no train station or stop here. To the public transport Annenhof is not connected.
Today (as of 2014) a few former farm workers' houses with their stables are grouped together in the Annenhof to form a small settlement. The appearance of the place is characterized by horses, ducks, chickens and agriculture. The state administration of Brandenburg identifies the Annenhof as a residential area for the Bad Saarow community.

Foundation and naming

The Annenhof was very likely laid out in the first half of the 19th century as an agricultural farm or as a sheep farm of the Pieskow manor, which was one of the extensive holdings of the von Löschebrands around the Scharmützelsee. It was first mentioned in writing in the Prussian first recording of 1844, in which it is shown as Vw. Annenhof with two buildings (see adjacent map excerpt). A specific namesake is not known. The Brandenburg name book generally refers to the Hebrew German first name Anna for naming purposes .
In 1858, the farm, which was built in Pieskow, was recorded as a dismantled Vorwerk of the manor district. In his local statistics of the administrative district Potsdam with the city of Berlin: […] from 1861 Richard Böckh gives the place as Annenhof or Hammelstall , so as a sheep farm. In 1885 two residential buildings are listed. In 1897 the church was incorporated into Pfaffendorf . In 1924 it was said that the Annenhof farm ran the non-resettled part of the former Pieskow estate.
Land reform and the GDR era
The Annenhof was particularly affected by the land reform in the Soviet Occupation Zone (SBZ). On October 6, 1945, the Soviet military commander issued the order to distribute the land of the Annenhof and the Silberberg estate to resettlers from the areas on the other side of the Oder and to poor farmers. Each “new settler” was allocated an average of 5 to 9 hectares of arable land and 5 hectares of forest per settler. The ha ( hectare ) was calculated at 200 Reichsmarks . The purchase price should be paid in annual installments over a period of 10 years. Former members of the NSDAP were not allowed to acquire land reform land. In 1977 the farm was run as part of the LPG Alt Golm .
