Anton Schaller

Anton Schaller (born October 11, 1944 in Nottwil ; legal resident in Altbüron and Zurich ) is a Swiss journalist , former television presenter and politician ( LdU ) who now works as a communications consultant.

biography

Anton Schaller was editor-in-chief of the Tagesschau of Swiss television and headed the Bundeshaus editorial team . He was the moderator and director of the Café Fédéral , the Rundschau and the Friday Round . Schaller also moderated numerous federal voting, election and special programs.

In the mid-1990s, Anton Schaller switched to politics and ran unsuccessfully as a career changer for the LdU as a member of the government of the Canton of Zurich . In 1995 Anton Schaller was elected to the Zurich Cantonal Council. In 1999 he took over the presidium of the Landesring der Independentigen (LdU) and followed the resigned Verena Grendelmeier to the National Council on April 20 ; in this capacity he was a member of the finance and economic commission of the federal parliament. He was not re-elected in the 1999 parliamentary elections because his party lost his seat; The Landesring reached only one seat in the National Council for the whole of Switzerland and subsequently dissolved on December 4, 1999 after 63 years of political activity.

Today, Schaller works as a lecturer at St. Gallen training institutes and has traveled to Romania on behalf of the SDC . He is a colonel in the Swiss Army . He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Pro Seniorweb and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seniorweb AG .
