Anwar Mohamed Ahmed Misbah ( Arabic أنور محمد أحمد مصباح, DMG Anwar Muḥammad Aḥmad Miṣbāḥ ; * April 8, 1913 in Alexandria ; † November 25, 1998 ibid) was an Egyptian weightlifter .

Anwar Musbah was born in the Moharam Bek neighborhood. He became a national weightlifting champion in the 1930s. Because of his success, he was nominated for the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin . There he achieved a new world record of 342.5 kilograms, but had to share first place with the Austrian Robert Fein , who had lifted the same weight.

Since the Egyptian media had not reported about Misbah's success in Berlin, he carried his gold medal around with him for many years to show it as proof that initially even his family did not want to believe him. He was a sports teacher by profession, retired from active sports in 1945 and worked as a trainer. He became a well-known figure in Egypt. Once, when there were rumors that he had died, a large crowd gathered outside his Alexandria apartment.
