Alfred Neuland (born October 10, 1895 in Walk , † November 16, 1966 in Tallinn , Soviet Union ) was an Estonian weightlifter .
Career
Alfred Neuland grew up in the Estonian city of Valga and started lifting weights there at the age of 14. In 1911 he competed in his first competition in Riga , where he won the lightweight. The First World War interrupted his athletic career. He then competed in two Olympic Games: in 1920 he won a gold medal and in 1924 a silver medal. In 1921 Alfred Neuland founded his own company. He has not been forgotten in Estonia. After Estonia regained political independence in 1990, a memorial was erected to him in his hometown Valga.

- 1922, 1st place , World Championships in Tallinn , FK, Le, ahead of Eduard Vanaaseme, Estonia and Valdemar Normägi, Estonia;
- 1924, silver medal , OS in Paris , FK, Wed, with 455 kg, behind Carlo Galimberti , Italy , 492.5 kg and in front of Jaan Kikas , Estonia, 450 kg.
