The Apostolic Vicariate of Puyo ( Latin apostolicus Vicariatus Puyoënsis , Spanish Vicariato Apostolico de Puyo ) is in Ecuador located Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate based in Puyo .

history

The Vicariate Apostolic Puyo was on October 4, 1886 by Pope Leo XIII. established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Napo as Apostolic Prefecture Canelos e Macas . On February 19, 1930, the Apostolic Prefecture of Canelos e Macas changed its name to Apostolic Prefecture of Canelos . The Apostolic Prefecture Canelos was on September 29, 1964 by Pope Paul VI. raised to the apostolic vicariate. On May 18, 1976, the Apostolic Vicariate Canelos changed its name to Apostolic Vicariate Puyo .
