Arianna Jeanette Romero Tellez , also known as Ari Romero , (born July 29, 1992 in Glendale , Arizona ) is a Mexican - American football player .

Career

society

In the player allocation for the 2014 season of the NWSL , Romero was assigned to the Seattle Reign FC franchise , but switched to the newly founded Houston Dash franchise just days later as part of the 2014 expansion draft . For the 2015 season, she was transferred to the Washington Spirit franchise in exchange for Niki Cross , but did not play a league game there. In 2016 Romero played for the Icelandic first division club ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar before moving to W-League participant Perth Glory at the end of the year . In March 2017 she signed with Vålerenga Oslo .

National team

Romero played for the Mexican U-20 national team from 2011 to 2012 and took part in the U-20 World Cup in 2012 with them. On November 20, 2011 she made her debut in a 5-0 draw against France in the Mexican women's national football team and was part of the Mexican squad at the 2013 Algarve Cup in March 2013 . In 2014 she took part with Mexico in the 2014 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup , where Mexico qualified third for the 2015 World Cup. Romero was used in two group games and the losing semifinals against the USA. She is also part of the Mexican squad for the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
