Ariel Zuckermann

Ariel Zuckermann (* 1973 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli conductor and flautist with a focus on Europe and Israel, and since 2015 director and conductor of the Israel Chamber Orchestra .

Career

Ariel Zuckermann first studied flute with Paul Meisen and András Adorján at the Munich University of Music . Further studies followed with Alain Marion and Aurèle Nicolet . He began his conducting studies with Jorma Panula at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm . In May 2004 he completed his conducting diploma with Bruno Weil at the Munich University of Music.

As a flautist, Ariel Zuckermann has won several awards at national and international competitions. Since 2002 he has been the soloist of the renowned ensemble " The World Quintet " (formerly "Kol Simcha"), with whom he has made recordings and concerts all over the world. He played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Lorin Maazel , Daniel Barenboim , Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti concerts with the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra , the Munich Philharmonic , the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich . Ariel Zuckermann works as a chamber musician and soloist in Europe , Israel and Asia .

As a conductor, he founded the Hermes Orchestra Munich in March 2001 , which consists primarily of leading members of various German orchestras, professors from the Munich University of Music and soloists. He continues to work closely with this orchestra.

Ariel Zuckermann was elected assistant conductor to Iván Fischer at his Budapest Festival Orchestra for the 2003/2004 season . In close cooperation with Iván Fischer, he not only developed a large conducting repertoire through rehearsals, but also conducted concerts with the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

From January 2007 to 2013 he was chief conductor of the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt . In this role he has worked with artists such as Zoltán Kocsis , Tabea Zimmermann , Heinrich Schiff and Diana Damrau .

Other conductors include concerts and recordings, etc. a. with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra , Bach Collegium Munich , Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon-Lezion, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Saarland State Theater , Munich Symphony Orchestra , Hof Symphony Orchestra and Rhineland-Palatinate State Philharmonic .
