Armando Esteves Domingues

Armando Esteves Domingues (born March 10, 1957 in Oleiros , Portugal ) is a Portuguese clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Porto .

Life

Armando Esteves Domingues first attended school in Oleiros, before moving to the Episcopal Boys' Seminary in Fornos de Algodres in October 1967 . He then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Viseu until June 1980 . From July 1980 to October 1981 Esteves Domingues completed a pastoral year in Rome , where he took courses in spirituality and youth and family pastoral care. Armando Esteves Domingues was ordained a deacon on November 25, 1981 . On January 13, 1982, he received the sacrament of ordination in the Sé Catedral from the Bishop of Viseu , José Pedro da Silva .

Armando Esteves Domingues became parish vicar in Fragosela and Santos Evos on January 15, 1982 . On May 24 of the same year he became pastor in São Martinho das Moitas , Gafanhão and Covas do Rio and in October 1983 also in Reriz , São Pedro do Sul and Castro Daire . Then Esteves Domingues was military chaplain with the Portuguese Air Force , first from March 1984 at the air base in Alfragide and from December 1984 finally with a boy scout unit in the Região de Lisboa .

In February 1987 Armando Esteves Domingues returned to his diocese and became a teacher at the Escola Secundária Emídio Navarro . In October of the same year he also became a member of the Priestly Council of the Viseu diocese. On September 17, 1989, Esteves Domingues was appointed pastor in Torredeita , Boa Aldeia and Farminhão , before he became pastor of the parishes of São Salvador and Nossa Senhora do Viso in September 2006 . He was also a teacher at the vocational school in Torredeita from 1989 to 2014 and a diocesan economist from 2004 to 2015. On July 20, 2015 Armando Esteves Domingues was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Viseu. He also taught at the seminary in Viseu from 2016.

On 27 October 2018 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Centenaria and auxiliary bishop in Porto. The Bishop of Viseu, António Luciano dos Santos Costa , ordained him episcopal on December 16 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Porto, Manuel da Silva Rodrigues Linda , and the Bishop Emeritus of Viseu, Ilídio Pinto Leandro .
