location
The Arnegger Ried nature reserve is located around 200 meters north-west of the village of Arnegg in the town of Blaustein. The area lies in the natural area 095- Middle Area Alb within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb . It is surrounded by the 1,845-hectare conservation area no. 4.25.105 Blaustein . It is also located in the 5,692 hectare bird sanctuary No. 7624-441 valleys of the Middle Alb .
Protection purpose
It is a relatively near-natural fen, which is not found anywhere else in the rest of the Blautal and which also has ornithological significance. Large sedge companies alternate with only fragmentary reed beds. In the former peat cuttings, the Schnabelseggen reed appears as a silting society. The fever clover training leads to the formation of suspended ceilings and the formation of the wire sedge intermediate moor with gullies in which the society of the small water hose (Scorpidio-Utricularietum) settles. To ensure protection, the German Federation for Bird Protection acquired most of the reed.
