Laushalde is a nature reserve and a landscape protection area in the Baden-Württemberg city of Langenau in the Alb-Danube district.
Characteristics
The nature reserve was designated by ordinance of the Tübingen regional council of July 9, 2002 and has a size of 28.2 hectares. It is listed under the protected area number 4.306. The CDDA code for the nature reserve is 318720 and corresponds to the WDPA ID . The originally 84 hectare landscape protection area has been under protection since October 26, 1981 by ordinance of the Alb-Danube District District Office; it has been reduced in size by the designation of the nature reserve.
location
The Laushalde nature reserve is located around 1200 meters south of Hörvelsingen , a suburb of Langenau. It is almost completely enclosed by the 55 hectare nature reserve No. 4.25.098 of the same name and is also part of the FFH area No. 7425-311 Kuppenalb near Laichingen and Lone Valley , which is 1,794 hectares in size. The area lies in the natural area 097- Lonetal-area Alb within the natural spatial main unit 09- Swabian Alb .
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is according to the Protection Area Ordinance
- the preservation of a landscape-defining juniper heath characterized by morphological, geological and climatic characteristics with valuable grasslands, rocks, gravel heaps, hedges, field trees and natural deciduous forest to secure the habitat of the endangered flora and fauna;
- the protection of the juniper heather, the grassland and the surrounding area from afforestation and other intensification of use, especially from excessive leisure activities;
- the protection of the communities of the noble deciduous forest communities that shape the landscape on and in the dry valley from transformation;
- the preservation of the area as an integral part of a biotope network;
- the protection of the unique landscape, which is a testimony to the earlier economic system and is of great cultural value.
The protection goal is the permanent securing of the heather as pasture area for sheep in extensive herding and thus use and care as a poor lawn, in addition the networking with pasture areas in this and neighboring districts as well as the establishment of extensive buffer zones, etc. a. as pens.
