Arthur Jeph Parker

Arthur Jeph Parker (born August 25, 1926 in Detroit , Michigan , † December 15, 2002 in Tucson , Arizona ) was an American production designer .

Life

Parker began his career on the film staff in 1955 as a television set designer, where he worked on the series Twilight Zone and Cobra, Take You , among others . He worked for television until the mid-1980s and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy in 1979 for his work on the miniseries Blind Ambition with Martin Sheen in the lead role .

From 1970 Parker also worked on feature films, one of his first engagements was Arthur Hiller's comedy Never Again New York . 1977 he was the John Wayne - Western The Shootist along with Robert F. Boyle for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design nominated, but the award went this year to the dance film All That Jazz . In 1980 there was a second nomination for the disaster film The China Syndrome together with George Jenkins . Parker also lost out this year, winning the dance film Behind the Spotlight .
