Ashley Hicklin
Ashley Hicklin (born December 28, 1985 ) is a singer-songwriter and composer from England .
Life and career
Ashley Hicklin grew up in the north-east of England, in Scarborough , North Yorkshire . At the age of 14, he began performing on open stage evenings in his parents' pub.
He studied classical music at Leeds College of Music . Singing, guitar, piano, drums and clarinet are his instruments. He was also trained as an orchestral arranger and wrote compositions for the London Sinfonietta , the Apollo Saxophone Quartet and the Goldberg Ensemble .
In 2008, Ashley Hicklin from CEO Europe of EMI Publishing, Peter Ende, taken as a composer and lyricist under contract. For the Swedish casting show " Pop Idol " he composed the song Emma-Lee for Johan Palm , which landed in the local charts. He composed other songs for Palm's first album.
Working with the teams at Skunk Anansie , Leona Lewis , James Morrison , Marit Larsen , Amy Winehouse and the Sugababes , he gained further practical experience.
At the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, Hicklin was co-author of Tom Dice's Belgian entry , Me And My Guitar , which reached 6th place overall. Ashley Hicklin recorded his debut album in the HOME studios with producer Franz Plasa . The album Parrysland was released by ferryhouse productions in October 2010.
Live performances
In the summer of 2010, Ashley Hicklin appeared in the opening act of Ich + Ich on their open air tour. On September 23rd he presented his music at Warner Music at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
