action
Eve, the owner of a small event agency and mother of a son, causes an accident with minor sheet metal damage after visiting her father Lou in the hospital. From this point on, her life went haywire: her husband was out on business, she organized a reception at the President Nixon Museum, her sister Maddy abused her as a dog groom and she also took care of her terminally ill father, who is still is not over the separation from his wife. Eve then visits her mother and finds out that she is no longer interested in her daughters at all. In flashbacks and phone calls, Eve's relationship with her two sisters and her father is worked out. When Eve tells her father that her mother is dead, he says he "won".
During her magazine's five-year anniversary celebration, Sister Georgia talks about the father, but doesn't mention that Eve bears the burden of caring. The sisters argue. You are called to the hospital when Lou falls into a coma . At first they keep arguing, but then make up again. You are puzzling over an actress from the 1950s. Lou suddenly says their name - June Allyson - and dies.
In the last scene the sisters prepare the feast together. Eve remembers her childhood shown in flashbacks.
criticism
“ As always, Delia and Nora Ephron have also listened to this comedy from the zeitgeist, which they target in their relaxed, easy way, with a sympathetic wink and mild pungency. "
“ Unsuccessful blend of comedy and melodrama, which gives away the topic of human finitude to sentimental effects and a clumsy dramaturgy. "
