August Becker (politician, 1803)
August Johann Becker (born July 19, 1803 in Mainz ; † September 21, 1881 there ) was a Hessian politician ( German Progressive Party ) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

August Becker was the son of Johann Aloys Becker (Chef de Division à la préfecture du Département du Mont-Tonnerre ) and his wife Aloisia nee Müller. August Becker, who was a Catholic, married Eva Josephine nee Müller (born December 13, 1813).
education and profession
August Becker studied law at the University of Giessen from 1820 and then worked as a judge. In 1827 he became a lawyer in Mainz and in 1836 in Alzey. In 1840 he was a supplementary judge at the Alzey Peace Court and in 1850 a judge at the Mainz District Court . In 1872 he was appointed judge of higher appeal and cassation judge in Darmstadt .

In the 17th to 21st electoral term (1862-1865) August Becker was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates he represented the electoral district Rheinhessen 1 / Alzey in electoral periods 17 to 20 and the electoral district Rheinhessen 2 / Alzey in the 20th electoral term.
