August Christian Lebrecht von Krafft

August Christian Lebrecht von Krafft (born March 4, 1740 in Delitz am Berge , † December 20, 1813 in Brieg ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the fortress of Breslau as well as a gentleman on Delitz am Berge, which he bought in 1787.

Life

origin

His parents were Friedrich August Gottlieb von Krafft († September 11, 1773) and his wife Henriette Sidonie, born von Bose (* July 23, 1715; † November 12, 1769). The father was a royal Polish cornet of the body cuirassiers as well as a gentleman on Delitz am Berge.

Military career

Krafft joined the “Rochow” infantry regiment of the Electoral Saxon Army on October 7, 1753 as a cadet . There he became an ensign on September 1, 1756 . At the beginning of the Seven Years' War , Krafft was enclosed with most of the army near Pirna . After the capitulation, he changed to Prussian service on October 15, 1756 and came as a second lieutenant with a patent from October 27, 1756 in the infantry regiment "von Wietersheim" . Krafft fought in the battles near Prague , Kunersdorf , Torgau , Reichenbach, as well as in the battles near Krenau, Holitz, Fehrbellin, Meißen and the sieges of Breslau and Olomouc . He was wounded near Kunersdorf and Olomouc. At that time he was transferred to the infantry regiment "von Wied" on June 8, 1758 and promoted to prime lieutenant on November 29, 1760 .

After the war he was promoted to staff captain on June 17, 1768, and on January 19, 1773, he joined the infantry regiment “von Laxdehnen” as captain and company commander . He took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession , was appointed major on April 29, 1784 and battalion commander on October 6, 1784. On April 25, 1791, he was appointed regimental commander. In this position he became lieutenant colonel on May 29, 1791 and on February 13, 1793 colonel . Krafft took part in the campaign in Poland in 1794/95 . On November 10, 1798 he was transferred to Wroclaw as major general and commandant. On November 23, 1798 he received an allowance of 500 thalers. On October 3, 1803, his pay was set at 2,000 thalers. After the surrender of the fortress in the Fourth Coalition War , it was put inactive on January 7, 1807. The capitulation was before a military tribunal investigated and Krafft then on March 14, 1811 to one year imprisonment sentenced. On May 13, 1811, however, he received permission to spend his imprisonment in the city of Neisse. He died in Brzeg on December 20, 1813.

Krafft was married to Johann Karoline Rosine von Hünefeld (* October 1740, † February 3, 1811) from the Limbach family. The couple had several children including:
