August Jugler

Georg Wilhelm August Jugler (born August 23, 1833 in Hanover ; † March 6, 1888 there ) was a German lawyer and local researcher .

August Jugler was the son of an upper mountain ridge . He passed his Abitur at the Hanoverian Lyceum in 1852 and studied law at the University of Göttingen from 1852 to 1855 . He then became an auditor at the district court of Medingen and continued his training on, among others, at the district and higher court in Nienburg / Weser .

In February 1860 Jugler was elected first in his hometown as the second and in March 1864 as the first Hanover city ​​secretary . He was initially responsible for commercial matters and from 1867 for militaria and had his own voting rights in the city's magistrate . In 1869 Jugler was elected Land Syndikus of the Calenberg-Grubenhagen landscape and consequently resigned from the magistrate in early 1870.

In the year of the proclamation of the German Empire , August Jugler also worked from 1871 as - legally qualified - director of the Hanover Pension and Capital Insurance Company .

As a long-standing member of the board of directors of the Historical Association for Lower Saxony and on the administrative board of the then Provincial Museum (today: Lower Saxony State Museum ), August Jugler researched everyday life in Hanover in particular in the Middle Ages .

Honors

Juglerstraße , which was laid out in the Hanoverian district of Kleefeld in 1926 , was named after the state syndic "who published many articles on the history of the city of Hanover ".
