The Hörnli tower is a 10 meter high observation tower on the Cholfirst in the municipality of Laufen-Uhwiesen in Switzerland. It is therefore the smallest of the 16 observation towers in the canton of Zurich .
You can reach the viewing platform at a height of 10 meters via 50 steps. It has a panorama board with the names and drawings of the mountains visible from the Hörnli. It was created by Eduard Schmied. The observation tower provides a view to the south. You can see various peaks from Säntis to Hohgant in the Bernese Alps.
Current
The tower can no longer be entered since 2020 due to static problems. For this reason it will be demolished and replaced by a new tower with a roof. The costs for the demolition and the new tower will amount to around CHF 127,000.
Around the tower
Next to the tower is a playground and fire pits. A forest path leads from Uhwiesen to the tower in about 10 minutes.
